Honoring Those Who Served

The Saunders County Veterans Memorial, located at 640 N. Broadway Street, Wahoo, Nebraska 68066, stands as a lasting tribute to the men and women of Saunders County who answered the call to serve our nation. Built through the generosity of veterans, families, businesses, and community supporters, the memorial is a place of honor, reflection, and gratitude for the sacrifices made to preserve the freedoms we enjoy today.

The memorial recognizes veterans from every branch of the United States Armed Forces and every generation of service—from World War I and World War II to Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, and peacetime service. Every engraved name tells a story of duty, courage, and commitment to our nation.

Serving as a gathering place for remembrance and patriotism, the Saunders County Veterans Memorial hosts Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and other community ceremonies that honor those who served and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. It is also a place where families can reflect on the service of loved ones and where future generations can learn about the cost of freedom.

The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 82 is proud to support and promote the Saunders County Veterans Memorial. Preserving the stories of our local veterans and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten is an important part of our mission to serve veterans, their families, and our community.

Whether you're visiting the memorial for the first time, paying tribute to a family member, attending a ceremony, or simply taking a quiet moment to reflect, we invite you to experience this special place of honor in the heart of Saunders County.
